Technical and Online Help Desk
Technical support is Interm ITs’ core service and is based on a regular visit from a regular technician, a technician who forms part of your team and looks to provide your school with a service that will help both your staff and pupils alike. We cover all hardware and software (except programs such as SIMS, PDRS, etc). As well as sorting out your ICT problems we will assist in the support of after-school or lunch-time computer clubs and teach staff or pupils on any aspect of IT we can.
All of Interm IT’s current 19 technicians work closely together in supporting problems in each others schools, we share the information we gather and store it on our own technical website, so when we learn, we all learn together. It may sound a little sugary to say but we genuinely care about our schools. Our intention is not come into your school to tinker and fill in time; we want to make a difference. All our technicians are enthusiasts; we feel this is a better approach for working in schools than to employ someone who may feel that they are technically over-qualified to work on educational equipment. The enthusiasm is visible in the way we work and hopefully is infectious to your staff. This enthusiasm is also a benefit as we are constantly reading and training to keep abreast of the latest developments; true technicians do not like getting left behind. In an ever-changing technological world it is so important that new technologies are explored, discussed and absorbed, for we need to be in the forefront to best support your school every time.
Our rates are simple: £26.99 per hour, offered in two hour blocks. You decide how many blocks of two hours you require and how frequent you need them. To be used at the same time, on the same day of the week, with the same technician. Some schools use us for two whole days a week, while others use us for as little as two hours a fortnight all at the same rate.
Why not try us for FREE. We will provide your school with a 2 hour visit free of charge. No obligation and no catch, feel free to use that 2 hours as you see fit. We could fix some of your technical problems, install software for you, teach staff or children or just audit your hardware and give you our honest opinion on the state of your equipment. What do you have to lose?

Is it safe & encrypted when it’s taken off-site
Schools are increasingly relying on computer systems and digital content to teach their pupils the core subjects of the curriculum. Administration data on each pupil and how the school functions are critical, highly sensitive and needs to be protected in a sufficient manner.
Without all this information backed up and protected the consequences of data loss can be massively time consuming, disruptive and potentially embarrassing as unwanted headlines are just a disaster away which would result in a damaged and hard to repair reputation.
Your data is sent securely and encrypted across the internet, so you can have peace of mind that your important information is safe in the event of a disaster.
With the Remote Backup Service for Schools you can rest assured that you are meeting your statutory obligations and will be able to restore your data at the click of a button when you need to.
How RBUSS Works
The school selects the data which they wish to backup either from an Administration or a Curriculum server. On the first backup, a ‘seed’ backup of the full data set takes place. When the data leaves the school’s site it’s fully compressed and encrypted and remains encrypted whilst at-rest in the data centres.
Once the seed backup has taken place, the software only sends across the incremental changes to the data on an ‘incremental forever’ basis.
After 30 days of backups, the software performs a ‘month end’ roll up of the previous incremental backup and creates a month end. 2 month ends are kept online meaning that you have 60 days of restore points – enough to see you through the Summer holidays should any of your students accidentally delete data on the last day of term!
Restoring data couldn’t be simpler, you can carry out file level restores using our easy to use web management console; or for restores of complete servers just restore over your existing Internet line.
“It saves our school money and has proved to be a major time saver as well,
removing the burden of backup on our school completely – the service is very impressive” -
