RM ATSS Case Study with Abbots Green Community Primary School and Interm IT
RM developed the Affiliated Technician Support Scheme (ATSS) in collaboration with independent technicians. Schools have regular contact with a highly trained technician and direct access to RM's award-winning support, which enables the smooth running of their ICT networks.
We spoke to Mr Alex Bedford, Head teacher of Abbots Green Community Primary School, to explain the benefits of this three-way relationship.
Expert help is always available
For Abbots Green Community Primary School, the importance of having a reliable network cannot be underestimated, as if the technology works "teachers have more time to teach."
Using the ATSS service provides "peace of mind" for Head Teacher Alex Bedford, as he has always has access to expert help and advice. A major benefit of the ATSS scheme, according to Alex, is the regular technician visits. Abbots Green Community Primary School receive scheduled weekly visits from Technical Director, Brett Dunmow, which allows the school to devise a schedule of work for completion and problems are resolved efficiently.
If the school is in need of advice when their technician is not there, they can easily access RM Support. As Alex explained:
"The telephone support is excellent...logging calls online is very effective and very swift...advice is always there on-line and there is a very, very good knowledge bank."
Engaging directly with experts enables schools to resolve issues effectively, as teachers do not waste time trying to troubleshoot problems and regular network maintenance means issues are minimal.
Combined expertise leads to greater efficiency
Improved efficiency for schools is the greatest benefit of ATSS, according to David Wall, Head of Interm IT. David explained that all the engineers in his company have been trained on Community Connect 3™ and this leads to quicker problem resolution. David Wall feels the three way relationship between the school, RM and technicians works very well.
"The relationship between the school, ourselves and RM is stronger because of the ATSS scheme...we are working together and it is making big dividends - it is totally brilliant!"
This view is also reflected by Interm IT (Essex) Director, Brett Dunmow:
"The ATSS scheme has strengthened our relationship with RM and this can only benefit the support that primary schools receive."
A partnership that delivers results
Network reliability and efficient issue resolution are not the only benefits for schools. Head teacher Alex Bedford appreciates the savings on standard RM support contracts through the ATSS service and describes it as "a cost effective support solution" which reduces stress for schools.
